Jason S. Berman, PhD, CGP
Hello and thank you for visiting my site. This website serves both to tell you about the services I offer but also to give resources from the world of psychology, media, culture to help you develop a fuller, happier life. Psychotherapy—a way to “talk it out” – whether one on one, in a group, or otherwise – is a healthy way to process troubling thoughts, feelings and conflict as you long as you do it with a trustworthy and safe person and confidentially. If you don’t talk it out, you can possibly “act it out” with low self-worth, depression, anxiety, addictions problems in relationships, and other struggles.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and nationally certified group psychotherapist in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas with significant experience in helping reflective men and women with depression, anxiety, and other inner struggles or inhibitions.
After growing up in greater Los Angeles, I studied psychology and philosophy at Baylor University. I then went to the University of Haifa in Israel to study psychological issues in an international context. Living and studying in Israel was one of the highlights of my life. It was in Israel that I decided that becoming a psychologist would allow me to both engage my mind and help people.
It was from Haifa, Israel that I was accepted to the PhD program in clinical psychology at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, from which I graduated in 2007. Since that time I have continued in on-going training opportunities in clinical psychology, group psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I began training in psychoanalysis in 2012 in Kansas City and I am now an advanced candidate of the Dallas Psychoanalytic Center (DPC), American Psychoanalytic Association and on the Executive Committee of the Dallas Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (DSPP). I am also a full member of the Group Analytic Society International, London.
My life is about cultivating a private practice in North Dallas, being married, having a family, loving animals, working out, having faith, serving others (e.g. teaching the Enneagram and consulting about trauma with agencies that fight human trafficking and help the victims) and otherwise appreciating the benefits of living in Dallas, Texas.
I am Dr. Jason Berman, and I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds to help overcome feelings of anxiety and depression. Difficult experiences from the past can emotionally hobble you and get in the way of the life you want to live. My job is to help you get back to the life–the relationship, the faith, the physical fitness, the career, the family, the community, the purpose, the pleasure–any life that you want freely and abundantly. I don’t choose for you or tell you what life to pursue but I help you clarify what you want and what is keeping you from moving toward it.
I am licensed clinical psychologist–who trained at UT Southwestern Medical School–in private practice in North Dallas, who has helped many people find new freedom from the patterns or feelings that are keeping them back.
If you would like to talk, please call me for a free initial telephone consultation: (214)-929-9244.
Thank you for stopping by.
