Talk It Out Dallas

Therapy saved my life

Richard Grant, star of Gosford Park, recently said that therapy saved his life:

More specifically, he was involved in psychoanalysis which is really a deeper form of therapy. I like seeing famous people talk about the value of therapy because it helps fight against the stigma that therapy is for the ‘crazies.’ Contrary to popular myth, people who go to therapy to work through their hurts, emotional struggles, self-recriminations are taking a risk (a healthy risk I say) but risks take courage. Therapy and psychoanalysis is all about looking at oneself and one’s problems with a curious, nonjudgemental attitude and with a trusted other for the purpose of healing and freedom from what can be debilitating inner conflicts and inhibitions.
